A few more shots of the Alaskan landscape from the water as we cruised to our first stop in Anchorage. Yes, it was cold and rainy but that’s the kind of weather I love! Soon we’ll arrive in Anchorage and I’ll be seeing some sled dogs.

When it comes to my personal photography, it usually takes a back burner to my client work. So it’s a rare thing for me to actually have pictures to show from my trips or personal shoots.
I went on my first cruise with my family last year to ALASKA! It’s always been a dream to go to Alaska so I was so very excited to finally have the chance. I totally recommend going to Alaska, I totally recommend taking a cruise and I totally recommend Holland America! These are a few shots from the first day or two as we cruised to our first stop. More photographs to come as we cruised for 7 days and this is just the beginning of the trip!

My nephew Angel is now a year old! So I wanted to do a photo session for him because he’s so darn cute and such a good baby. It may surprise some to know that I actually saw him cry more during this one photo session than I’ve seen him cry in his entire first year combined! That’s no lie. Blame it on the mosquitos, blame it on the heat, who knows. But the crying shots are too cute to pass up.

I was looking forward to this photography session for so long because I had heard that little Godzilla would be destroying her Lego town! I’ve photographed her when she was 3 months old, 6 months old, and 9 months old, and now she’s a big girl. And since she’s celebrating her first birthday, of course we wrapped up the session with a fun and messy cake smashing for the birthday girl.

Stevie and I met as young, wide-eyed freshmen in the Aggie Band at Texas A&M and then I met Jenny when they started dating towards the end of our time in the Corps. I love having a history with the people I’m shooting because I already know their personalities and especially in this case, I know how goofy they he can be. And it’s so fun watching Jenny just smile and enjoy all his goofiness. They’re a perfect match for each other and I’ve enjoyed seeing them grow together over the years.

As a photographer I’m obviously a fan of photography and I love coming across interesting work done by other photographers outside of my specific genre. The aerial photography shot by Alex MacLean shows beautiful patterns and shapes of things we might see as common from our perspective standing on earth.
