Despite a few mishaps to the beginning of the wedding day, it turned out to be a perfect rest of the day! Dawn and Ryan chose to see other before the ceremony and this gave them a great chance to have a private moment before the day started and also to exchange gifts with each other. The ceremony was a traditional Catholic service one of the funniest parts was the the priest almost forgot to do the wedding vows! But thankfully he remembered before the ceremony was over.

The fun surprise that Chiharu and Andy had for everyone at their wedding reception was that they had prepared a first dance that included a tango….how exciting! They did a great job and wowed their guests with their moves. Another neat surprise happened when Chiharu’s mother sang a song for them with her guitar that she had written a long time ago. It was a sweet moment.
This beautiful afternoon wedding was finished off with a balloon exit from the Junior League of Houston.

After a having a great engagement session with Chiharu and Andrew, I was so excited for their wedding day! I was even more excited due to a surprise that they had for their first dance which will be coming soon.
The ceremony was held at Bethel Church in Houston, Texas and it was great to be able to shoot at a church for the first time. The girls had a sweet time helping Chiharu get ready for her special day and the guys had a fun time hanging out. The ceremony was topped off by the most adorable flower girls they had!

Nothing at all makes me happier than when a wedding client actually books their wedding venue based on my availability AND chooses the ceremony time based on the perfect time for wedding portraits!! After Stephanie and Brian’s beautiful ceremony we spent a good amount of time together for their portraits.
The reception took place at Treebeards in downtown Houston and gave the ceremony a beautiful rustic look. One unique thing about the reception was the cookies that guests took home because each bag had a star to represent Stephanie’s Texas background and a maple leaf to represent Brian’s background. The other thing that made the day personal and unique was the involvement of so many friends and family, each adding his or her own personal touch.
For all future clients: this is the ideal way to do it! Schedule some time to allow for wedding portraits. You’ll love the results, I promise!
